The type of personal information we collect
When you use our website, we currently collect and process the following information:
- Name
- Email address
- IP address
How we get the personal information and why we have it
Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you when you request receipt of a product specification document.
The IP address is collected at the same time as the data request.
We use the information that you have given us in order to provide you with the documents you have requested, and so that we know who we have supplied them to.
We use the IP address to enable us to manage the website efficiently (by preventing overloading of the website by too many requests for the specification document from the same location).
We also use your contact email address and name to follow up with you, to check whether the document met your needs and whether there are any services we might be able to supply you. (You agree to this when you request our product specification document).
Your data is stored temporarily on the website, and subsequently in Vision iO’s secure system.
Your information is shared with the third-party organisation that runs our website. That organisation does not use your information or process it, except to enable the supply of the specification documents you have requested and to ensure the efficient operation of the website.
Vision iO may also make your information accessible to a partner employee, responsible for any follow up communications.
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are:
(a) Your consent. You are able to remove your consent at any time. You can do this by contacting David Clover at dc@visionio.com. When you contact us, we will remove your personal data from our secure systems.
(b) We have a legitimate interest in collecting the IP address information, to maintain effective operation of our website.
How we store your personal information
Your information is securely stored.
We will only keep your personal information for as long as necessary. We will then dispose of your information by deleting it from our systems – unless we have legitimate interest in retaining the information.

Your right of access – You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.
Your right to rectification – You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.

You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
